About Cat's Paradise

Cat's Paradise Spa and Boarding Retreat offers the highest quality of care for your kitty. Not only do we offer the roomiest rooms, the nicest gardens and a fantastic view of horses and deer from every room, but we offer the best all-natural wholesome foods and litter. What more can a kitty ask for?!?.

Most cats will have a minimum 3 by 4 by 5 feet interior space with an additional 3 by 4 by 6 feet exterior space, all with their very own cedar play pen. The penthouse kitty rooms will measure 3 by 6 by 5 feet interior with 3 by 6 by 6 feet exterior rooms. And these are the single cat rooms! Each unit with a window is a double, so that is 6 feet by 6 feet by 5 feet interior space!! The doubles for multiple cats are even more spacious then the singles. Each room is equipped with it's own cat flap so that the cats can enjoy the outdoors as they please. Almost every room is also equipped with a designer hammock outdoors so that the cats can lounge on the natural cedar decks and take in the fresh air!

We feed each cat according to their routine at home. Each day after breakfeast they spend time in the communal area exploring, getting brushed or just lounging about. It is a cat-spa after all:-) We play music 24 hrs a day unless the cats have asked to watch a movie and in that case we play: The Cat Sitter and many a cat will sit intently watching the television. The spa itself is heated with both electric heat and a wood pellet stove; while in the summer it is air-conditioned. We encourage owners to come out for a visit beforehand so they can see for themselves how content the cats truly are. It is a cat's dream come true!

Kitty Wonderland!

We have just completed a beautiful kitty play park. Measuring 20 by 20 this play park is equipped with stones to perch on, cedars to climb and scratch, a circular staircase and "lounge chairs" this park is the cats meow!

Theme Rooms

While you go off on your adventure, let your little tigers roam free in the jungle for an adventure of their own!

Each cat has their choice of rooms. Whether they prefer the unique experience of the jungle room, the Sahara desert room, the rain forest room, arctic tundra room etc. Each cat selects a decor to suit their personality.

Some cats enjoy the desert room because of all the stones and hiding places with trees that look dead or fallen. This is especially good for cats that like to hide and are shy. This way, they can go into the room and find a comfy hiding spot. The forest has trees with fake plants wrapped around them and plenty of perches for the playful kitty.

What about a Metro-Kitty? But of course! City-slicking-kitties can take advantage of the upscale, metropolitan room. They can lounge on their very own lazy-lounger.

Vision and Mission Statement

Our mission at Cats Paradise is to provide the highest quality care, products and services for the discerning cat owner. We strive to meet all mental, physical, and social needs for our four-legged customers. Our long-term goal is to become the premier choice for the Ottawa-area cat owners. Cats Paradise offers a variety of natural pet foods as an alternative to the lower quality commercial brands found at other kennels. This is because, we want our felines to live longer, healthier lives. The products we carry include nutritional supplements, holistic products, animal theme books, magazines, animal plush toys, local treats, designer collars, cleaning products for the home and more.

NO Dogs Boarded!

Part of what makes Cats Paradise a unique boarding experience includes the fact that absolutely no dogs are allowed to board here. Cats can feel safe knowing that they are in a unique boarding facility geared towards felines-only. Anyone who owns a cat knows that the ideal setting for a cat to be boarded is one without dogs housed in the same building. Many cats are not accustomed to dogs and find it stressful to be boarded in a place surrounded by barking dogs and unfamiliar dog scents.

The other unique feature are the individual cat turnouts. This is a feature that is not available at the traditional kennel or clinic. My own cats have a similar turnout at home. This consists of a wood structure with cedar playpens so that the cats can climb and perch where they want. It is also beneficial for outdoor cats, as it allows them to enjoy the outdoors in a safe environment. All of the structures are built on interlocking stones.

Last, but not least, we provide high-end quality natural foods. Even though these foods cost more then your grocery store brands, they are free of animal by-products, chemical preservatives and harsh additives. If your cat has its own food then you can bring it along. The litters we use are natural, biodegradable and free of silica.

Often, we give back to the community by fostering cats for the country cat rescue and featuring them on our website.

Quality of Care/Exceptional Facilities: At Cat's Paradise Spa and Boarding Retreat, you receive the kind of quality and service you expect from a top-notch hotel. We baby our feline guests and make sure they enjoy their stay and look forward to returning. You can rest assured that your kitty will enjoy their vacation as much as you would. Each day each cat is allowed to roam about the spa for an exercise session. They might roam free, or enjoy a nice brushing or play with some toys. Each day, the litter, water , food and room are cleaned. We provide bowls, cat posts and other furniture; however, you are encouraged to bring a favorite something for your feline friend to make them feel even more "at home".

Flexible Services: At Cat's Paradise Spa and Boarding Retreat, our highest priority is satisfied customers. You are important to us and you can expect us to go the extra mile for your business. We offer pick-up and drop-off within Ottawa at Natural Pet Foods for a nominal fee of $20 each way. This is right in the heart of Westboro, at 339 Churchill Avenue North - in between Richmond Rd and Scott Street. We also offer pick-up and drop-off services from downtown Carleton Place at Natural Pet Foods. They are located at 61 Bridge Street, right across from Ketchups and the post office.

Visits, drop-off and pick-up are by appointment.

       Possible Times for Drop-off and Pick-up at Cat's Paradise:

Please keep in mind that you should arrive with your cat no later then 30 minutes before our closing time in order to fill in the required paperwork and settle the cat in.

Please call or email to arrange a time for a visit or check-in/drop-off as we prefer to space out the cats being dropped off and allow the cats to get settled in to the new environment. Please note, we will not release your pet to you during holidays when we are closed or outside the posted hours.

Regular Holiday Schedule:

We are closed all day Easter Sunday.

We are closed after 11:00 on the following holidays:

Good Friday,  Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, August Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day and  Remembrance Day.

Our Christmas holiday schedule is as follows:

***We will be limiting our numbers of cats after Labour Day in September (September 7th, 2009) until December 1, 2009 except for select repeat clients only- please call us to inquire about this timeframe****

For Christmas 2009, we will be limiting our spaces so we will only be accepting repeat clients for boarding at Christmas time.

The minimum number of nights for Christmas is 7. You can pick up your cat(s) earlier but you will still be charged for 7 nights stay. The minimum number of nights on a long weekend is 5. You can pick up your cat(s) earlier but you will still be charged for a 5 night stay.
