Cat's Paradise Spa and Boarding
Retreat supports local rescue groups in the Ottawa Valley including Heaven
Can Wait Ottawa Valley Cat Rescue that is run out of Natural Pet Foods in
Carleton Place. Currently we are helping to find homes
for cats and kittens from the local pound in Carleton Place (just outside
Ottawa) exclusively. Because the shelter never runs out of cats for us to
help out we do not take on owner surrenders. However, we will post courtesy
photos (see below). Our small group of staff are very dedicated cat-lovers who do all
they can to help out needy cats. We are non-profit group that tries to fundraise
for cat charities while finding wonderful furr'ever homes for cats and kittens in the Ottawa Valley.
How to Contact Heaven Can Wait
Ottawa Valley Cat Rescue:
If you can’t adopt a cat or kitten
you can still help out by donating cat food or litter items for the shelter cats
at Natural Pet Foods shop. You can do this by dropping into Natural Pet Foods
either in Ottawa (at 339 Churchill Avenue North) or in Carleton Place (at 61
Bridge Street) See:
www.naturalpetfoods.ca for directions or call 613-253-PETS or 613-321-7282.
Lastly, you can help by supporting the local fundraising for the
shelter so that we can purchase new cat runs and cover the costs of vaccinations
and spay/neuters for the cats. Donations can be made at the shop
or directly at the shelter.
Our wish list include:
-
baby blankets, bowls, litter, cat
food etc for foster homes, the pound and our HCW orphanage facility at Natural
Pet Foods in Carleton Place

or for people that have taken in a stray.
The Mouch:
This cat was lost and was found in Almonte
by a lady who is currently looking after him at her home. He is very
affectionate. He has been outside and have heard about him for over a month so
she had to help him out. Maybe someone will finally seek him if he does not
come home. He is about 3 yrs , looks neutered., in good shape 14-16 pounds ,
no fleas etc but a mystery to several callers to me seeing him in fields,
yards etc for weeks and out in cold. He has been named The Mouch!!! Looks
more like a FAWN orange tabby. If you think this may be your cat please call
Linda 257-7617 in order to visit "The Mouch".

Kittens:
The following two calico's were rescued by Judith. They are gorgeous little
kittens and are about 6 months old. They have received their first set of
vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting these two kitties please contact
Judith directly:

Generosity of Community
Gives Paws for Thought!!
Our silent auction
benefiting the homeless cats was a great success!! I am very happy to report
that our silent auction event raised over $1350 for our rescue program. A big
thank-you to everyone in the community that so generously contributed. The money
raised from this event will be used for the veterinary care of rescued cats, as
well as going towards a fund for new cages for the shelter.
A Big Hug and Purr
A big thank you goes out to
everyone in the community that has been donating food for the shelter and all
five families that adopted kittens from our program the last month. The community
has been very supportive and all the eight kittens are doing well in their new homes.
